I had been using my woodgrain-styled custom WordPress theme for a while, but recently I got a little tired of it. It hid too much of the navigation in a clever little sliding javascript panel that no one seemed to find to click on. In the meantime, I’m starting to get a better idea of how I’d like my blog to evolve. It was time for a change.
I’ve customized the Hybrid WordPress theme with the Outline child theme, which offers great typography. I’m pretty happy with the results – and best of all, with WordPress Jetpack and some other modifications, I cut my plugin count significantly. That means a faster website for everyone.
